Scott | Class of 2020 | Warren JFK
I’m going to let you in on something- guys deserve an awesome senior portrait experience JUST AS MUCH as the girls! In my experience, most guys leave the planning up to mom and act super nonchalant, but trust me, they care. They grew up in world full of social media and selfies and want to be portrayed as themselves. Not to mention, there’s this beautiful thing that happens during my shoots, confidence! Confidence shows in their expressions, their posture, their mannerisms. And if they put their full trust in me, their attitude moving forward.
I’ve had the privilege of knowing Scott and his family for years now and even got to photograph some of his older siblings! They are the most genuine, awesome family. I was ready for the full entourage of support.
We started out the session at the football field. The Eagles won the state championship during Scott’s freshman year on the team. I imagine that was one heck of a way to start off high school! Scott is a car guy, so when the Klaben’s so kindly offered to let us borrow his dream car, I knew the perfect parking deck nearby.
Full circle moment when we went back to the library where I had captured Scott’s older brother’s portraits. Mom may or may not have teared up at this point. I took Scott way outside his comfort zone initially with purpose and that resulted in some great portraits! We capped off the session right at sunset with the family rescue pup, Penny!
I have absolutely loved working with the Mintus family over the years and cannot wait to document the next chapters in your lives! You’re not getting rid of me! Scott, I hope this experience was a highlight among your senior year!
